New Year’s resolutions…again. (Ahem.)

So, it’s that time of year again where the human population makes erroneous promises to themselves and breaks most well-intentioned resolutions by the third day of January.

I, too, have several that are years old.  There’s:

The quilt

The exercise plan

The healthy eating

The organized home

The minimalist home

The monthly savings account with actual deposits

The daily schedule

Menu planning and freezer cooking

The daily blog (oops)

Ahem.  So, I have been about as accurate as most people, so the averages go.

I have plenty of excuses, believe me, but no real reasons.  I did, however, gain a little ground this year.

My son’s room is mostly organized.  We still aren’t able to homeschool, but I did end up putting together learning centers and finding homes for all the educational treasures I’ve accumulated over the past 5 years.

It’s not pretty, but at least I know where everything is!

I am doing the whole backwards hangar project to see what I really do wear.

I organized my scarves and accessories.

And I actually cleaned out a ton of junk from around the house.  We had a mostly unsuccessful garage sale and I’m already piling things up for either donations or another garage sale.  I still have 2 or 3 boxes to go through and shred, donate, or just toss.

I did acquire a few new appliances over Christmas and since menu planning and freezer cooking have been on my list of resolutions for a couple of years, I think it might be possible to make it happen.  I may even be able to make bread more often!

So, here’s to hitting the gym, getting organized, and um, possibly accomplishing some of these goals that actually have completion dates!!!
