HOMESCHOOL/GARDRNING FOR SANITY
I’m not really sure what this post falls under, actually, but here we go. I’m not getting to homeschool Beanster like we’d planned. Mostly, it’s because we had to have insurance, no ifs, ands, or buts. We had to roll with the punches on that one. And I’ll get off that before I really get going.
Anyhow, we still do plenty of Homeschool work, lapbooks, projects, and educational field trips. It’s just all after work and preschool.
My husband is a big time movie watcher. A few weeks ago he brought home Red, starring Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mitten, Karl Urban, and the main character girl who’s name I’m not positive about (but she was great). Well, in the beginning of the movie, the main girl and Bruce Willis are talking on the phone and she’s asking him about his avocado tree. She said she knew he could grow it because it’s so easy.
Since I’m the curious type, I looked it up and, sure enough, it does look pretty easy! Toothpicks, glass, water, avocado seed. The directions said to keep the water level up to the bottom of the seed, point the seed a certain way, and that’s pretty much it!
So, here’s what we made happen. It’s not much, but we will keep you updated on how well it survives. I realize this movie has already been busted on MythBusters, but hopefully the avocado part is true. (And for the record, Pensacola does not look like a swamp, and the next big town over is not Mo-bull, it’s Mo-beel. ;))
Have a great day, everyone. Peace and love.
